word history:
A friend is a lover, literally. The relationship between Latin amcus “friend” and amo “I love” is clear, as is the relationship between Greek philos “friend” and phileo “I love.” Blah, blah, blah... you get the picture.
These are the people who I consider close enough to be my friends. Almost all of them would be considered "best friends" of mine. I confide in them, trust them, depend on them, and I hope I can help them too. Oh yeah, I like to have fun with them occassionally. They're quite an interesting group of people. I'm glad I know them.

Yeah, I'd be scared too if I didn't know them. Then again, how well do you know anyone anyway? Hmm, I kinda am scared...mommy?
